APCAT-7 Concludes on High Note

The Asia-Pacific Congress on Catalysis (APCAT) -7 event scheduled from 17th January’ 2017 to 21st January’ 2017, Mumbai, India concluded on a high note. The APCAT-7 event was organized by Institute of Chemical Technology - Mumbai, Catalysis Society of India and the event partner MMACTIV Sci Tech Communications. The Theme of the event was "CATALYSIS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, PEACE AND PROSPERITY".
The dignitaries gracing the inaugural were:
- The Chief Guest of the Event was Prof. M. M. Sharma–Emeritus Professor of Eminence, Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT).
- The Guest of Honor was Mr.Ramanujalu Janardhanan - Vice President - South Asia & ANZ ,SABIC.
- Prof. Can Li – Chairman, Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies(APACS)
- Prof. G. D. Yadav – Chairman – APCAT-7 and Vice Chancellor of Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT)
- Mr. Jagdish Patankar– Managing Director, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications, Event Partner of APCAT-7
Prof. MM Sharma delivered the keynote address and enlighten the audience with his expertise in this sector.

TSMG white paper on “Catalysis for Sustainable Development” was released during the event inaugural along with the release of the event souvenir.

During the days of the conference there were 17 Keynotes, 38 Invited and 175 Oral Presenters. There were 3 poster sessions with 40 posters displayed everyday and 40 International poster presenters participated in this activity. The event witnessed a fantastic participation from across the globe with the presence of 30 Countries.

The event concluded with a grand Valedictory and Awards Presentation function, graced by:
- Prof. G.D Yadav, Chairman of APCAT-7 and Vice Chancellor of Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT).
- Prof. Can Li Chairman, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies (APACS).
- Prof. Chung Yuan Mou, National Taiwan University and Newly elected Chairman of Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies (APACS).
The Young Scientist award of APCAT-7 was presented to Mr. Young Gul Hur from Korea University. 39 Best Oral Presenters, 9 Best Poster Presenters was also recognized and presented certificates during this glittering finale of a successful APCAT-7 event.
